Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026
TBRly ("we", "us", "our") is a reading companion app that helps you track, discover, and organise books. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. What we collect
- Account info: email address, display name, avatar, optional theme preference.
- Library content: the books, wishlist, DNF list, challenges, and notes you choose to save.
- Camera & scans: this app requires camera access to scan your physical book covers using OCR. Photos you take are sent to our AI provider for text recognition so we can identify the book. We do not retain the image after processing, and the camera is only used when you initiate a scan.
- Payment info: if you subscribe to Premium, our payments processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We never see or store them.
- Diagnostic data: anonymous crash and performance logs to keep the app stable.
2. How we use it
- Run your account, library, and personalised recommendations.
- Send transactional emails (signup confirmation, password reset, premium receipts, occasional service updates).
- Improve features and fix bugs.
We never sell your data. We do not use your library content to train third-party AI models.
3. Who we share with
- Supabase (database + auth hosting)
- Stripe (payments)
- Lovable Cloud (email delivery + AI gateway)
- Google Books / Open Library (book metadata lookups)
4. Your rights
You can view, edit, or delete your data at any time from Settings. If you can't sign in, you can also request deletion at tbrly.app/delete-account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, library, and all associated content within 30 days.
5. Children
TBRly is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
